Sam K. Kim was born in 1979, raised in Philadelphia, and is of Korean descent. He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in painting, and Pratt Institute with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. Since 2003, he has been working as a children’s book designer at Penguin Group Publishing in New York City, while pursuing his passions in fine arts. He lives, works, and occasionally plays his guitar in his studio in Hoboken, New Jersey.
